Lost Weekend, part deux

Well, off on the grand Thanksgiving road trip with my sisters, my brother-in-law and my mother. As we recounted on our easing down the road, this is our first family road trip in almost thirty years, since the last time my parents took us all to Disney World when we were little kids. Here's hoping this trip doesn't remind me WHY we haven't done this in thirty years.

One nice thing has changed, which reminds me a little of how spoiled I am now. Used to be one of the things I hated most about going home on holidays was the total lack of communication - being cut off from the rest of my world, such as it was. Now, I'm sitting in my sister's apartment, with her, me, and my brother-in-law all cheerfully logged on to her wireless network with our respective laptops, having spent the day exchanging text messages with tricksterquinn from the road, the mall, and points on the trek to Greensboro. I love modern technology, I really, really do.
