When even walking downtown to pay your property taxes is a pleasant experience.
Got stopped the other day and given a warning ticket for expired registration (which I'm historically really bad about). So, I go online to the DMV to update my registration, and there's a block for failure to pay county property taxes (which I'm also generally pretty bad about). This time, I think I've paid my taxes, but given my history, I decide to trust the computer and wander downtown a couple of blocks, in the glorious weather, to pay the Man.
Get there, and lo and behold, I HAVE paid my property taxes - they just haven't told DMV. So, the county computers talk to the state computers, and for once, whacking through bureaucratic red tape is as easy as a walk through the park - literally.
What a lovely day.
