Not least because I think if you catch people speeding down in their cars down residential streets under the conditions currently prevailing in the District (i.e., snow, ice, and people walking in the road because the damn sidewalks aren't shoveled), you should be allowed/encouraged/required to shoot them with the largest firearm that can be brought to bear.  Or drop them in a deep hole and let snow plows dump snow on top of them until spring time comes.  Or, hell, just douse them with gasoline and set them on fire, I'm not all that picky - my justice need not be poetic, final will do. 

Perhaps I've been cooped up in the snow too long. . .

I like poetic justice, don't get me wrong - I admire the creativity of a carefully constructed curse as much as the next guy (well, depending on who the next guy is, I suppose). But I'm ok with just hitting the miscreant with a bus and moving on, too.
